Going to the Chapel....

An event 14 (or so) years in the making took place this last weekend. Ben's cousin (very much another younger brother to him) got married. Angelo and Vanessa have know one another since the 8th grade, they had a daughter when they were just 17, stayed in school, went to college, had a son, got engaged, set the date, had to change it because their second girl was due that same weekend, set a new date and finally GOT MARRIED!! Ben and his brother were both the Best Men, Angelo's sister Margo and I were the Maids of Honor (ok I'm a matron but that just sounds OLD!!). I adore Vanessa, she is a great mom, she works incredibly hard and she has become a great friend and now cousin. They got married up in Santa Barbara at El Presidio Real de Santa Bárbara. It was a beautiful Mass, the chapel small, old and beautiful. Vanessa was a beautiful bride, Angelo looked every part the happy groom. The reception was more fun than I have had in a long time. The DJ was Richard Blade (those of you who follow me on twitter know this part). He was pretty darn cool, especially since I grew up listing to KROQ. We didn't get the station in very well where I lived but as anyone who is from So Cal knows- KROQ was the station- Everyone listened to it. So when they got Richard Blade- well, rumor has it the RSVP list went up!! LOL (J/K). Any how, it was a great day, Evan said at the end of the night "Mommy this was the best day of my life!"
