I can't believe I haven't shared this. I think part of it is that if I blog it it makes it real. Though looking at her every day for the last two weeks should have somehow solidified it for me.
Emma got her hair cut. Other than the occasional trim, she has not had a major hair cut in over 3 years. Her beautiful long hair extended to her rear. When wet it went to the bottom of her rear. She has loved it, she loves having "princess hair". She hasn't loved me brushing it though. It was too long for her to care for on her own. She has two friends with cute little "bob" hair cuts, and that is what she wanted. In one cut, we held 15 inches of braided hair. My hairdresser was so sad to do it.
She is donating her hair to Locks of Love, we've got the form filled out and the hair bagged and ready to go. I really want to take just her alone to mail it off. I don't think she really understands where her hair is going, but I want here to have her own special memory for the time that it all become clear to her.
*Sniff* She does look so cute and grown up with her new do, *sniff* and it is easier to brush, *sniff* and she can wash it on her own now. *sniff* *sniff*
