Ha you'd think I've been writing every day with a title like that! LOL! We are moving to our new home on Saturday, our internet will go down tomorrow, and I have not set up service at the new house yet. I hope to be back online soon. I'll do a quick recap of the last week or so and then it is goodbye blogland for a while- I hope I survive!
Last week we celebrated Evan's birthday at our playgroup, we went to a park had some brownies and strawberry shortcake. it was really a nice time and I'm glad he got to have a little celebration. Since Maria dogged us out last Wednesday (hehehe just kidding, nothing worse than being sick with kids!), we went to the Natural history museum, or as my kids all like to call it "the dinosaur museum". We had a great time! The butterfly pavilion is back so we spent some time in there. Evan was fun to watch, he just gets so excited about things. Owen took his camera and he and Emma took pictures - which still need to be downloaded. We were there for a good 3 or 4 hours. I'm going to miss living so close to it.
Thursday we went up to our new house and closed escrow!!! YAY it was very cool! Our real estate agents bought us- well the kids- a jolly jumper (small one by little tykes). The kids had a blast all weekend bouncing in the thing. Ben painted all weekend, getting the house all ready for us to move in to. Sunday was Evans birthday, we had a little cake and ice cream with the grandparents. We got him a basketball hoop for his birthday- he LOVED it. actually all 3 love it, it is a little big for him, it looks like a jr. version of the official size ones. I found a cool ball too that has hand prints on it showing where to put your hands. Very cool. Sunday we walked to a park near our new home and wouldn't you know there was a group of people there who meet every Sunday who do medieval sword fighting. It was sooooo cool!! they have two different types of fighting they do, one with full body protection/armor and the other with mostly head and chest protection. The weapons are from 500 AD through the Italian renaissance. The kids loved watching them battle. on our way back home we stopped and watched again and they let both Emma & Owen try out the heavy fighting "swords" (they are not metal, but made of wood and plastics) they both got to "battle" one of the "knights" who was so kind as to fall over after a few whacks. It was very cool, and even more cool is that my dear Ben is a medieval fan big time. I won't embarrass him too much, but this is soooo up his alley. I know what we'll be doing Sunday afternoons! They also have gear for kids and teach choreographed sword fights. and they will do demonstrations for school groups-inc homeschool groups.
We got back to LA late Sunday night. Monday Emma had an eye Dr appointment. What nightmare!! The system we have to go through only has one Dr for all of LA kids. it take at least 6 weeks to get in. Then they over book her so we were there 3 hours!!!!!! Thankfully it is at the hospital where Ben works and the appt was near the end of the day. He was able to come over and get the boys and take them home. Emma, Olivia and I were there forever. Her eyes have only changed a little, but she gave us a new prescription, so then we had to go down and pick out glasses since we can only use our benefit money there. So in a couple weeks Emma will have nice new glasses. Good thing too since her's just broke and we put them back together with super glue!
Tuesday we had check ups for both Olivia and Evan. Both are just about perfect. Olivia is still a peanut and Evan is still BIG. Tuesday was also another playgroup day, we went to a pizza place that is very chuck e cheese like. but better and they have a well priced all you can eat lunch buffet. The kids had a blast there, they always do. I had a great time too, we had a good turn out- over half our group was there. I love chatting with the mommies and having that adult time.
Today I stayed home for the morning time and got some packing done as well as some laundry. This afternoon I got to meet our very own Maria and her 3 beautiful kiddos!! we had a great time and the kids seemed to really click. mine can't wait to hook up again. (next time with coats right Maria! ) I really liked taking to maria as well- she is as nice in person as she is in blogland.
Ok well as much as I would love to stay, I have to get moving on some clean up and packing. See you all soon, wish me luck getting this house all packed up by Saturday.
