and I am a compostaholic. There I said it. I love compost. I love that every time I peel a carrot, chop the tops off my bell peppers, julienne some squash or make a pot a coffee I get to add to my compost bin. I love that when I open the bottom of the bin and reach in there is moist black material- filled with nutrients ready for my garden, yard and potted plants. I love the fact the even if I didn't garden, I just saved those items from hitting the local landfill, taking up space that is increasingly scarce. I just love compost. I get excited at the thought of gathering leaves from my neighbors yard to add to my bin, since we have no leaf dropping trees in our own yard. (Don't think I haven't seriously considered planting one for the sole purpose of harvesting the dried leaves!!)
This blog is a place where I can share that love. I know I am not the only one out there with this crazy obsession. I suspect that as we are a society becoming more and more aware of the importance and necessity of recycling more of you will come to give composting a try. As that happens I look forward to hearing you say with me..... I am a COMPOSTAHOLIC!!!
